Eto'o considers Uzbekistan move
17 July 2008

Samuel Eto'o has confirmed he is considering a shock move to Uzbekistan to play for Kuruvchi in Tashkent.

The Barca hitman, who has been courted by the likes of Milan, Arsenal and Tottenham, admits there is a very real possibility that he will agree a short spell in Uzbekistan.

Eto'o, who has scored 77 goals in 108 league appearances for Barca, is currently in Tashkent to assess the environment.

Kuruvchi were mocked earlier in the week when they revealed they wanted the 27-year-old to spearhead their AFC Champions League campaign, but Eto'o has confirmed the approach is very real.

"There has been an offer from Kuruvchi and that is why I am in Tashkent right now," he explained.

"One of the reasons I am here is to get to know the people and all the interesting things about this country.

"My agent and I have had meetings with leaders of the club and I very quickly found a common language with them.

"There are still offers from other clubs and I will choose the one that is right for me. But I have an agreement with the vice-president of Kuruvchi, Tavakkal Isomilov, that I will tell him my decision first."
